Berlin beer fest: no |

Just back from the Berlin beer fest. Didn't find much evidence of Franconian beer, apart from Fischer of Greuth and Hartmann of Wurgau. Probably because Franconian beer is at it's best when served fresh and local. Fischer were selling rauchbier (nice) and a helles (pretty average, IMHO). Hartmann were selling a helles/pils (good). There was a lot of CO2-dispensed cold lager on sale at the fest, some good, some bad. Which is OK on a hot day. But after a few pints, my stomach was longing for a kellerbier dispensed from the wood.
