You do not specifically need the Thomas Cook map, any good map of Czechia will do if the scale is right; it should show railway lines in some detail, that will make the looking up easier. Update about the Prag Spezial offer: it is only valid on three trains a day each way, Regional Express trains that basically run from Munich via Landshut - Regensburg to Schwandorf, where they are combined with a train from Nuremberg via Amberg. From Schwandorf the combined trains run via Furth im Wald - Domazlice - Pilsen/Plzen to Prague. The ticket prices differ according to the distance travelled in Bavaria, for instance Nuremberg 49, Munich 59 euro's return per person. Therefore if you are travelling in a small group using the Bayern-Böhmen ticket plus Czech tickets from Pilsen will probably be (a lot) cheaper. On the other hand, B-B tickets (and Bayern-only tickets) are only valid from 09:00 monday - friday, whereas with the Prag Spezial you can make an early start. Also note that the Prag Spezial is valid for one month. And you cannot make an intermediate stop, it can only be used to and from Prague! I cannot give you any more info on Prague or Czechia, as I've never been there yet, I just happen to know a lot about train travel in many European countries. As a matter of fact I have planned my first trip into Bohemia for next month, when I will be in Amberg for a few days (day trip to Plzen). |
