Löwenbräu Backstahäusla

The place that I am recommending for the Tuesday is not the Löwenbräu Backstahäusla, which is excellent, but a place across from it, which only opens on Tuesdays (when the Backstahäusla is shut), i.e. a football supporters' club bar, on which I could not see a name on my October, 2006 visit, but you can't miss it if at the station. I know what you mean about doing the taps and the Annafest, but if you don't visit Forchheim that frequently, then they are not to be missed. In fact, they are not all open at their usual times at Annafest time, but open are Brauerei Neder, Sattlertorstrasse 10, and Brauerei Hebendanz, Sattlertorstrasse 14, which are both superb and very close to the magnificent town hall, where you can book a taxi in the tourist info place.
