I haven't been on the underground tour, but I have heard it is amazing. There were mines for sandstone, as well as caves dug for storage, lagering beer, etc. etc. One of the main entrances is near Stöhrenkeller. I've heard that at some point they stop and point overhead and say "up there is Schlenkerla" I was once down in the caves below Wilde Rose Keller (where Robert P. used to have his brewery). It was amazing how far down and how extensive they were.
