Walking & Bierkeller(s) around Bamberg

Child seats on hired bikes...no idea about that. Do you have one of your own you could bring along? Never actually made it to Abseits the other day. Didn't actually make it to Bamberg at all, though we did make it to the big Keller here in Erlangen pouring the new Kitzmann Kellerbier, which wasn't as bad as I had feared, though of course ridiculously over-priced: €5.50 / Mass. (Plus €5 Krugpfand) The most obvious suggestion for Keller outside of Bamberg would be the two in Buttenheim. Buttehheim lies about a mile East from Buttenheim station (which is actually located in Altendorf). Compare and contrast the two Keller there. Brauereigaststätten with small outdoor seating areas near to train & bus stops abound all around Bamberg, but *Keller* are more rare until you get further into the country. If you haven't been to Merkendorf, then you owe it to yourself.
