Franconian Pub Crawl...bike tour

Either Hirschaid or Forchheim. Eggolsheim is actually the closest, but then you'll be on one of the older Regional Bahn trains, which are difficult to load your bikes in and out of, at least until you get the hang of it. The modern Regional Express trains, OTOH, you just walk your bike right on in. IMO it's worth the extra few km that the ride to/from Hirschaid or Forchheim adds. I really, really need to create a "Bierkeller by Bike" guide though! Here's a first attempt at such a thing from last year: http://www.franconiabeerguide.com/discussdethist.asp?IDKEY=ZZQ0 The ride from Forchheim Bahnhof is trickier though, because you have to work your way through town to the canal. Not a problem, but perhaps a bit intimidating if you're not used to biking around old Euro towns. Email me at the address I gave in the post above if I can be of help.
