Buses and bridges in Bamberg |

| The renewal of bridges across the Main-Donau canal (right arm of the Regnitz) continues. Next in line is the Markusbrücke, that is the one downstream from the Kettenbrücke. Tearing down the old bridge begins in march, the new bridge should be ready by november 2008. Although a few bus lines use this bridge, the impact on the routes and timetable will be relatively small. In 2009-2010 the Kettenbrücke will be replaced. This does not affect buses, but it certainly does affect pedestrians and bikers. Especially those of us who like to stay at either Fässla or Spezial will have to adapt. Jan |
