| We'll be there Friday October 13. Simon (a long time bartender and frequent Bamberg visitor) is arranging a special (blind) tasting for us. If anybody else is around you're welcome to join us -- but let me know. The most important thing for me about the renovations at In de Wildeman is they redid the spiral staircase down the the restrooms! It used to be bad enough in daytime and sober :) When I was there in March they were re-doing the non-smoking room. I also had a glass of Spezial van 't vat -- it was over double the Bamberg price and I was happy to pay it. (When I told Frau Merz how much her beer was going for in Amsterdam her draw literally dropped!) BTW, Dan Shelton's wife is from the Schweinfurt area (and they met at the GBBF). That helps explain his new passion for Franconian beer. |
