The reply did not seem very rude to me. He was simply pointing out that you apparently wandered into the most famous establishment in Bamberg (possibly in all of Franconia). Surely you did not end up there by accident? There are indeed many fine places to have lunch and a beer in Bamberg. What are you most interested in? A certain kind of beer? A specific food? Distance from the train station? Really, if you let us know, we can recommend various places. Cheers
