| So was anybody else there? I rather enjoyed it Friday, and dragged my much better half along Saturday, when we got a lucky break in the weather. She liked it too. No, not at all a beerfest, though there is good beer to be found. If one is planning a trip to Bamberg, and one is considering August, one could use Sandkerwa as a deciding factor in deciding exactly when to visit. It was easy to find Hummel's Kellerbier (gravity pour) at the stand across from the St. Elisabeth Kirche, although I saw at least one other Hummel stand elsewhere. Here are two photos from there, in opposite directions from Friday afternoon: http://tinyurl.com/lrbrl http://tinyurl.com/s48bo Mönschsambacher Lager was on offer by at least a couple of stands; I was quite happy with one from--of course--a gravity pour at a bar along Sand Str. whose name I can't recall. There were a couple other beers I didn't try, because I'd had them before (Hübner, Huppendorfer, and Hönig from Tiefenellern), but aside from the obligatory "vom Holzfass" Schlenkerla Seidla(s) outside on the street http://tinyurl.com/rjfjr (Saturday afternoon) , the only other beer for me was a new one, I think: Hausbräu from ... brewery in Stegaurach. There *is* a brewery in Stegaurach, isn't there?
