| "It will be, I think, my fourth time there." If you're not dead-certain, then you've been enjoying yourself, which is Good! You haven't been "tipping like an idiot for years". All the waitresses & waiters you've had here knew quite well that you were a foreigner, and that foreigners simply have some different customs. The fact that you want to learn something about the culture you're visiting speaks volumes, IMO. My comment about leaving a tip on the table being "just not done" was over-the-top. AFA the "German Way" website goes, I recall having found that quite interesting and useful in the past. Should look at it again...... |
