| Just wanted to share my enthusiasm for this Merkendorfer smoked doppelbock. It deserves as much acclaim as Schlenkerla's Urbock imho! Dried meats, earthy smoke, caramel, and berry fruitiness all coalesce in an expertly-designed body of nourishment and refinement. A wooden hop bitterness splendidly supports the generous maltiness, as the drinker slowly levitates. Next time I'm in Merkendorf, I'll make sure I get more than the 2 bottles I purchased this time!
