Drei Kronen in Strassgiech? |

| On my way to Schesslitz last week, I excitedly got off the bus just before town, because I saw a brewery called Drei Kronen. I thought there were no other Drei Kronens past Memmelsdorf, before Schesslitz. After getting off the bus, and walking towards the brewery, I starting thinking about how the picture of Drei Kronen Schesslitz I had seen on the web must be terribly outdated since this place was totally different. And man, was Schesslitz a small village!?! Of course, a few minutes later, I realized we were still 3kms from Schesslitz, and we were in Strassgiech. Only this website doesn't have any brewery in Strassgiech. I was bewildered. The brewery was closed until 4pm that day, and we were around lunchtime, we walked over to Schesslitz instead. And to the Drei Kronen I actually wanted to visit. So now, back here, I have found this Drei Kronen Strassgiech's website: http://www.dreikronen1308.com/location.html They are purportedly far from a new brewery! Is this a contract brewery (surely the marketing aspect of their one beer must be fueled by larger interests), or is there really a brauerei in Franconia which is not listed on this site? If they are a contract brewery (which I believe), does anyone know what that 1308 beer is? Thanks! |
