As in, 2 "dumplings" with light gravy accompanying Schäufele...one of the pinnacles of "fränkische Küche", IMO. If the Klöße are done properly, of course--sticky Klöße that were badly made or that perhaps have sat too long before serving are no fun. I saw a very tasty looking plate of beef roulade with 2 Klöße and Blaukraut served as lunch in the garden behind Br. Hönnig in Tiefenellern just the other day, in fact. (6 IIRC) If my timing had been better (I.E., not on a bike ride with dinner later at home), I'd have indulged in it myself. Ah well, next time. |
