| Wow, Joelle, thanks. I love reading about the detailed impressions that people gather on their trips. One thing that stuck out to me is, to quote: "[Br. Wagner...] the Märzen was lighter in color than the Ungespundet and thinner than you would want a Märzen to be." As discussed in a newer thread above, the AHA or BJCP style guidelines are of limited use here. What one brewer will brew as a Märzen (for example) here might be entirely unlike what the homebrewing community in the US would expect. |
