| Buttenheim is really worth a visit; both breweries belong to the best in whole Franconia, even though they are "big" by franconian standards. In the center of the village, right in the neighbourhood of the the baroque church, You'll find both brewery taps. The "Löwen" being a basic boozer, popular with the locals, the "St. Georgen" is a more "bourgeois" restaurant. Both are worth a visit, indeed. On the southern edge of the village You'll find another attraction: the Kellers ! Again, both brewers run here large summer beer gardens, locally known as "Keller". On warm summer evenings, there's no better place to enjoy some steins, filled with an excellent and extraordinary hoppy Lager......! Worth a journey....... Günther |
