| Yes, quite a useful book, although the copy I picked up in Regensburg last summer was published in 1999 so is a little out of date now. It covers over 80 brewers in an area roughly bordered by Marktredwitz, Bayreuth, Neumarkt, Ingolstadt, Deggendorf and the Czech border. Each brewery has a description, pictures and list of beers plus opening times. This area covers Amberg which in the book has 7 brewers although this has probably now changed, and the areas Zoigl brewers. The book is probably best used alongside the internet to check on current status of the breweries covered. The Bierführer Niederbayern covers an area slightly more to the south of the Oberpfälz and is more up to date (2000) but does duplicate a few places. Both are well worth getting if you are planning a trip to the area. |
