Bamberg here we come!

For Bamberg area (and a wee bit more out): Schesslitz, Merkendorf, Aufsess, Huppendorf, Zeil am Main, Gräfenberg, Hohenschwärz, Forchheim, Pottenstein, Ampferbach, Grassmannsdorf,... Need more? If you're also interested in architecture, you might want to include Vierzehnheiligen. You're best bet for a Bamberg area guide would still be Stefan Mack's Fränkische Brauereikarte, but that seems to be a collectors item nowadays. My usual stay is at Fässla, but I've stayed at various other places, including Kaiserdom (wee bit out of centre but a bit more up standard). Don't know about Altenburgblick, should be ok as well (but also a wee bit out of centre), and Fred (Waltman)'s favourite place to stay seems to be Spezial. In Bamberg there are also hotels that used to be attached to a brewery, such as Alt Ringlein, Wilde Rose, and probably quite some more. Jos
