| My Bamberg travel stategy was flying into Berlin and doing an overnight in Leipzig. Leipzig was much more interesting than expected although the Gose beer was not as wild as hoped (one tasted like a Belgian wit, the other like a decent moderate gueuze) but there are other brewpub beers available. About 2 hours to Leipzig from Berlin and another 3? to Bamberg. Nurnberg is worth a couple days for the city and beer bars. There is a specialty pub with only Franconia beers, Landbierparadies which also has a seperate beer shop/distributor (bottles for about 75 Euro cents each). Both locations a bit outside the inner city wall. Mike |
