Bad-Staffelstein advice?

My wife and went there in 1999 hoping to find as many as 3 breweries in the town based on the book "The Good Beer Guide to Munich and Bavaria" by Graham Lees, only to find out that they were all closed, in fact we stayed at Gasthof Gruner Baum, thinking that it had its own brewery. The brewery had been completely torn down not long before we arrived and they were then selling beers frrom Kulmbacher. Still had a great time and the jolly innkeeper even bought us a shot of Wodka and made us chug a beer with him. It is really hard to go wrong anywhere in Franconia, brewery or not. I leave Monday for my 4th trip in 7 years.
