Stuttgart Oktoberfest

Unless you are a large group, you won't have a problem getting into any of the tents. Most folks seem to stay a while in one tent, then move to another. Music varies in the different tents -- play some oom-pah-pah and lots of American oldies. If you want to buy a stein, be sure and collect the discount tokens they give you with each bier you buy. They also have a nice parade the first Sunday morning. Tourist information office very near the Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof is very helpful with lodging, which is quite expensive during the fest. You can also buy a multi-day train pass from them (economical, if you plan to stay several days) -- during the fest, trains run between Stuttgart and Canstatt continuously.
