| The Bavarian pass is good only in Bavaria for 2nd class round trips, on the Regional Bahn, (RE) NOT the ICE train, or any other type. The price increased last week, from 22euros to 26 euros.Any number of people, up to 5, can share this ticket price. However, during the week, Mon.-Fri. you cannot purchase this before 9:00 a.m. & must return by midnight.On the weekends, you can purchase by 6:00 am.Depending on where you are going, there may not be a regional bahn train running in your direction, after a certain time, which means you may have to pay x-tra for another type train, to get back. You would have to ask for a Bahnhof booklet,@ the train station, with the times to make sure of this in advance.For example,I was in Munich on a Wednesday & the last RE that was leaving, that would get me back to Bamberg, was 4:00 pm., so I had to pay x-tra to ride another type of train.This does NOT include buses, ONLY trains. Buses are 1 euro & will take you within Bamberg city limits, not the entire region of Franconia.Also know that while travelling on the RE, you may have to wait from 20 min,or up to 1 hour, when you change trains,which you will have to do most likely, depending on where you are going.Last week, I used the pass from Bamberg to Wurzburg,& it took 1 hr. to get there, but 2hrs. on the way back, because of the 1hr."layover in Schweinfurt, where I had to change. So...don't be on a time schedule or in a hurry, if you decided to use this pass. LOL. |
