| There are one or two places of interest in Nuremberg; I was impressed with the Nuremberg Schlenkerla on a recent visit. Have you been to the Palmengarten, Untere Kanalstrasse 4. tel 0911 35 15 06 or 0911 287 87 95? I have not been myself, but a google search revealed that it has (or is declared to have) the biggest selection of country beers in Nuremberg. It is run by Boris Braun of Brauns Brauerei Atlas. It opened in October, 2003. Boris also has Der Frankenladen (The Franconia Shop) at Bucherstrasse 18, near the castle, just outside the walls of the Altstadt. This has a god selection of Franconian Beers, wine books (including beer books), etc. I have e-mailed Boris for further details but, unfortunately, as is so common, I have received no reply, so if anyone can check the Palm Garden out, I would be most grateful. It opens each day at 6pm. I believe it shuts at 1am and that it was formerly a Greek Restaurant. |
