| It is with deepest regrets that I must report the untimely death of Oswald Schardig aus Bamberg. Oswald was a true friend to countless American Beer lovers who came to seek out Bamberg Beer and all the surrounding Breweries. The Schardig house was always open to all friends of "Big John" and the New Orleans crowd and well stocked with Herren Pils and other Bamberg Beers. I will never forget this gracious man and all that he has done for me. My condolences to his wife Gudrun, daughter Elke and grandson Lukas. Oswald--May you rest in peace.
