Robesbierre of Bamberg

I bought the beer in Wildeman in Amsterdam, http://www.indewildeman.nl/ It wasn't on their beer list. The barman offered it to me after we had been discussing Franconian beer for a while. They had picked up one or two crates on their last trip to Bamberg. I have no information from the label because the bottle didn't have one. It didn't look contract brewed and the barman mentioned Robert (and the dillapidated state of the brewery)>. I really liked the beer, particularly its rough edges. It was obviously hand-made. Did I ever tell you about the tourist guide to Bamberg (published in 1918) that I have. It has a suprisingly large amount of information about the town's breweries. They must have had beer tourists in Bamberg even then. Maybe I should scan all the interesting bits and put them on the web (if I can scrape up a few more bytes of disk space.)
