Franconia as a whole was given to the Wittelsbach by Napoleon in 1803 as a reward for supporting him against Austria. So we have to live with the fact that we are citizens of Bavaria. But we don't want to be mistaken for Bavarians :) Greetings from Mittelfranken. Fritz Heberlein BTW. Aschaffenburg historically belongs to the archbishopric of Mainz, not to Hassia.
