| That happened to me once -- it seemed every hotel was booked Thur and Fri, but Sat and on was fine. Never did find out what was going on. A lot of the smaller hotels are not connected to online services so the only way to find out for sure is to contact them. I would do so via fax (I used an internet fax service called fax1.com that worked great). They almost always sent me a fax (or email) back, even if they were full. I also know people that have stayed in Forchheim -- about 15 minutes away by train (and home to 4 breweries). A friend in Bamberg has an apartment he rents out short term. He normally likes a minimum of a week but he may go shorter for a beer lover. It is a small apt, but it does have two rooms so four could fit in a pinch if beds could be found. It is just about around the corner from Schlenkerla so the location is good! |
