| Okay you make a good point about the "cynical way to make money". I understand and fully agree. Although like you said I'm not so sure either that they are trying to rip us off just a lot of brewers (here in the US also of course) that have started up breweries and aren't really sure what they're doing. Some of them succeed and brew good beer eventually and some never seem to get it and may ultimately fail. I would hope, as has seemed to happen in Czechia to some extent, that some of these new breweries will also brew traditional styles of the region and do a good job of it. And that's not to say that I think that some of them shouldn't brew IPA's, Porters, crazy barrel aged shit, etc. Again see Czechia for an example of what a new brewing scene ideally could be for Franconia. We'll see. |
