Conversely, the Independent this Saturday had a report on the growth of 'craft breweries' (their words not mine!).  All the usual suspects were there including Porterhouse, which is now a pretty sizeable business, the Dingle Brewery who make Tom Crean lager and the Roadside Tavern, Lisdoonvarna.

Mark, you will be pleased to hear that  the Roadside Tavern sell the cheapest beer of all those mentioned in the report at €3.80/pint.  All the others were well over €4.00, with some nearer €5.00.  The report said that the growth of small breweries is partly down to the advantage of getting a 50% tax rebate - so why don't they sell the darn stuff a bit cheaper?
