If the lid is cracked I would say "half open" or "mostly open" -- you are allowing excess CO2 to escape and that will scrub some volitles from the beer but probably not as much as a completed open fermented. But you don't have a dedicated room so additional measures may be needed.

If the lid is tightly closed that leans more towards closed.
