Altbier und Altbier

There's Düsseldorfer Altbier, and there's other sorts of Altbier. What the vast majority of beer drinkers today think of as "Altbier" is the former, with the latter being rather more rare, and indeed diverse in kind. AFA Münsterländer Altbier goes, wasn't there some discussion of this here a while back?

Nö, not here, but at the Burgundian Babble Belt, quite a while back now. That bloke refers to Münster Altbier as being an aged sour beer. Later on in the thread, he says he's seen nothing about cold-conditioning with Adambier, I wonder if this would also have been the case for Münsterländer Alt?

At any rate, the Steinbach Hopferla is a fine German pale ale. Off presently to procure a couple of litres.
