A Day in Bamberg

I wonder at leaving out Wunderburg. From the various reactions to my recent postings, it seems agreed that Fassla and Klosterbrau are way down everyone's list and Greifenklau is a bit marginal. Which leaves... not a lot!

Everyone likes Spezial and Schlenkerla but not many people are going to travel thousands of miles to visit two pubs - are they? Putting aside personal preferences, Wunderburg is a fundamental part of the Bamberg beer scene and can we imagine recommending a first time visitor to Bamberg not to go there? Keesmann's pils (not my favourite) but highly rated by many and Mahrs (in spite of my criticisms) is still a must visit for both the ambience and it's beer.

Even better, using the cheap and comprehensive bus network means that you can easily sample all!
