Oh I see, so they are in fact trying to provide table service. Gotcha! That's sounds a bit annoying.

Well no CO2 is not artificial. CO2 is CO2 whether it comes from a tank or produced by the yeast. It's still the same chemical. Nevertheless, I agree that you can put too much in but I'm not quite as sensitive to it to the point that I think Keesman is not a good beer because of it.
