Exactly my belief Jason. I want to taste traditional beer in the area in which it has been brewed, historically. I accept that US brewers are in a different position having, in most cases, to develop new styles but I think that it would be more effective for them to develop a local style and stick to it. Similarly, it is a bit difficult for a new brewer like Andi because he must also establish some kind of benchmark that is a bit different from others.

In my recent visit to the UK, I was quite concerned to find that even regional traditional breweries, such as Robinsons and Holts, were experimenting with new styles (e.g. Robinson's Elbow and Dizzy Blonde) that are not a patch on their 'ordinary' bitter and mild. Holts seems a bit better at this and I did enjoy their newer beers.
