Extract versus all grain

Well, I was thinking of the liquid extract syrup in cans and plastic bottles like what Barry's using. It is partially dehydrated, at least, right? And yes, there is also dry extract, as Fred mentions, which I used to use back in the old days.

I also used a kilo or so of it when I started brewing again here 3 years ago, for bottle priming, but then realised that Traubenzucker, though illegal according to the Reinheitsgebot (except, not really, since I'm brewing obergäriges!), is even easier to use. And then later, I realised I don't need to prime at all, if I simply bottle before the end of primary fermentation!
