It's a bit of a funny 'principle' that is, Nick. All hopping, by either home brewers or commercial brewers, is carried out using hops that have been processed in some way, either by kiln drying or by pelletising (except those fairly unique green hopped beers). Now you have the evidence of a number of extremely proficient professionals, including some whose beers you love, to say that they prefer hop pellets and yet you still want to eschew their use!
I expect to hear that, for your next brew, you are going to take your bucket down to Kitzmann or someone and beg a bucket of fresh yeast. Perhaps you should start visiting local farms to buy barley!
