"After all the praise of Griess beer, what an unpleasant surprise! It was flat, had a scummy head and a very unpleasant after-taste – sort of metallic or vaguely smoky, we couldn't really make up our minds. Whatever, it was so unpleasant that we threw half away – a first in Franken! " That's a shame. It does seem like bad timing/anomaly though. When I visited with Ronnie back in May at the keller we both thought it was very good. We then visited the pub for one last one after the keller and to be honest it tasted about the same to me. Then again I'm not as sensitive to gas as you Brits. I've visited the Griess pub four times (mainly due to bad weather causing the keller to be closed) and again have thought the beer very good but not blown away by it except for one day where it just seemed better than ever maybe due more to the mood I was in than anything else.
