There seem to be plenty of DB ticket machines nowadays. Just select English and it should all be plain sailing. I've bought a Bayern Ticket from a machine once before. Re: Salzburg beer. I found the mainstream Stiegl lager to be OK. And don't forget to try schnitzel and chips when you are in Austria.
