OT: Kölsch

Our local in Bensberg, the Kauler Hof, sold 0.2 liter glasses of Päffgen for € 1.50. That works out to € 3.75 per a half-litre. As big-city prices go, not expensive at all (remind me of the delights of paying for Guinness/Smithwicks/Budweiser in Ireland again? I forget). Half-liter equivalent price of Alt in Düsseldorf is € 3.80. The pubs do, indeed, have their own sense of style. We even found one in Bergisch Gladbach that had much-better-than-usual Gaffel and first-rate food.
