In Bamberg we have had only a problem with a house in Bamberg-Gaustadt (Following damage to a house, maybe a bad construction). But Bamberg has been also cold and rainy until yesterday. Today the sun shines. The Bamberg region is normally a region with few rain because we have hills around Bamberg in all directions. The regions with the great problems are Thuringia and Saxonia in the north of Franconia and in Bavaria (river Donau, p.e. Passau). Here You can see many images from the disaster in other regions: http://www.focus.de/panorama/welt/hoffnung-und-verzweiflung-menschen-im-kampf-gegen-die-wassermassen_did_45134.html Normally the high water from Thuringia and Saxonia will flood down in the north to the northsea (through Saxonia-Anhalt and Upper-Saxonia), so they have maybe problems in the next days in some cities near the rivers Oder-Neisse and Elbe. The disaster isn't so great (compared maybe to tornados in the USA), but normally we have only few natural disasters, so we are sensitive. Few men die (maybe some cases of heart attack or car accidents or falling trees). More financial problems when the water flood the houses and much work for the people and their helpers.
