...Zwickl...Weizen...Pils...Schwarzbier... What -- no half-IPA or half-CDA?!? When brewers talk about capacities like this (150 L), that means how much he starts with the boil, right? Ergo, the amount he mashes is greater than 150 L, and then the amount of chilled wort will probably be 80% of 150 L, right? And then some of that will be lost by the time it all makes it into the barrel, right? Had a nice discussion of brewing and homebrewing at the local customs office yesterday whilst picking up my latest 3# shipment of Oregonian whole hops, FWIW. Seems quite a few Zöllner (customs officers) are "former brewers", but I didn't get into asking him about why that is.
