Draught Beer Prices in Yorkshire, Oct 2011

One p per ... barrel? Pint? Still, it's a start. Here are some photos from my trip to the most excellent SIBA/CAMRA beer festival in Manchester, in October 2011. Head of Steam, Huddersfield Station < http://i46.tinypic.com/10cstg3.jpg > The Globe, Huddersfield -- a classic, though with way too much "craft" (sic) beer for some, I suppose. Run by a charming YOUNG couple. Bit tricky to read (IIRC, the numbered beers are CO2 keg), and a photo of some of the pumps follows. < http://i45.tinypic.com/6p9it2.jpg > < http://i46.tinypic.com/3468exd.jpg > The West Riding at Dewsbury Station, where if I read the prices in the full-size photo correctly, they run from £2.60 to £3.10 for cask ale, the latter Magic Rock 6.0%. < http://i49.tinypic.com/ixseib.jpg > And the Riverhead brewpub, home of the Ossett brewery, IIRC. < http://i46.tinypic.com/2dklqpu.jpg > Now, I suppose these are somewhat more expensive than the average Yorkshire pub, as they're all famous -- part of the Rail Ale Trail with pubs right in or very near train stations, which EVERYONE should journey on at least once in their lives IMO. But the quality and selection is top. < http://www.realaletrail.net/ >
