Thanks for clarifying Fred. In terms of serving from the tanks I can see how this would be ideal for them, but it still isn't quite as good as gravity imo. I believe lowenbrau buttenheim has the same setup, but their Keller serves the lagerbier gravity - an easy way to compare the differences. I guess as a real ale drinker for most of the year I naturally prefer minimum carbonation and slightly more ambient temperature. Mahrs brau is frustrating as in good weather they shut the front room and serve from the summer house bar in the garden. No U on gravity makes me grumpy, in spite of how good it is from keg it is wonderful gravity dispensed. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I'm confused when so many pubs would have a sign up boasting of bier vom holz fass when they could just serve it in this manner all the time. Perhaps the local preference is for cooler and gasier (sp).
