Weissenburg is a good choice and there are many breweries within reachable distance. Ebermannstadt the same. If it comes to beer, there would be Wunsiedel in beautiful Fichtelgebirge scenery (3 breweries within 6 kms), Coburg, Lichtenfels and Bad Staffelstein. Some really beautiful towns but without a big brewery density are Rothenburg o. d. T. and Dinkelsbühl.
