Meinel Bräu on TV

Let me guess: The 75 cl bottles sold for 18€? (Or at least half that amount?) I've read about the Holladie Waldfee (forest pixie?) before, and like the idea. I just hope it's not another of these hyper-priced extravaganzas. The Mandarina Bavaria was the second best of the new varieties at the Brau-Beviale IMO, the best (that is, the most flavour- / aromaful) was the other one, the Polaris(?). I took a sample over to the USA Hops stand and they were amazed with it. I would like to get some to brew with at home. Unfortunately, the brewers didn't use the new varieties in their demonstration beers *except* for dryhopping, so there was just a *hint* of their character; if they'd used them for *flavouring* late in the boil, then they would have been much more interesting and impressive. They should have consulted me first, obviously. Here's an interesting pdf about the new varieties: < http://www.lfl.bayern.de/ipz/hopfen/44006/flavor_hopfen.pdf > I particularly like the chart on the third page. I strongly DISlike the mis-use of the stupid "craft" term on the second page though. The chart about Polaris demonstrates its amazing aroma components. Here's info in English: < http://www.lfl.bayern.de/ipz/hopfen/44228/poster_polaris_e.pdf > 18 - 23% alpha acids! It's a *really* oily hop.
