Excellent find, though I've not read through all the AST stuff. There is AST service in the area around Forchheim; other parts of the VGN use ALT services, AFAIK. I've never used either, though I've discussed it with drivers to verify I understand how it works, at least in Forchheim. < http://www.vgn.de/ast/ > is the main page for the VGN AST's. Note that the links on the left-side menu ("Fahrplan") provide information about the pricing and collection times for Forchheim, not the link on the center page, for some bizarro reason. The Forchheim one covers a lot of territory in der fränkischen Schweiz.
