OT: Cycling in Britain

Interesting stuff. An ex-neighbor of mine here in Erlangen, a Russian, lived in Arizona for many years. So long, that he's actually a naturalised citizen but lives here now. He's been an avid cyclist and runner all his life. He told us that car drivers would throw soda or beer cans at him whilst passing him (full, or partly full...not empty) on the road and even try to run him off the road. There is no shortage of people in the US who believe that only motorised vehicles have a right to use public roads, since they pay taxes to maintain them and cyclists don't. (Regardless of whether the cyclists also drive cars and thereby pay taxes as well.) And there's no shortage of redneck idiots.
