No, indeed not. That photo was right before the chap's glasses fell off on to the floor, which prompted him to wake up, IIRC. And the young guy working the bar had just brought him that Seidla, although he was clearly dozing. Met B&J at the new Greif local yesterday late afternoon, out at the brewery. An odd place, as Barry says, one I've ridden by many times but had never bothered with before. The Hell there is bayerischer Anstich, and bloody fresh. When Greif's beer is on, it's a wonderful, simple helles Lager. I'd had it so many times in the past when it was either not fresh or simply badly brewed (if I may be permitted to assign the properties of "good" or "bad" here) that I'd just given up on them for a number of years. But recently, the beer's been fine. And we confirmed that what's served up at the Keller is the same beer: Hell. Not really a "Kellerbier". From there, off to Neder, of which I'm also having a rediscovery recently for the same reason. Yesterday's wasn't as good as on my previous visit, but the *place* made for a fine visit. Also shared a bottle of Schwarze Anne, which is a nice enough Dunkel, if not a classic roasty Schwarzbier.
