New Bus Route Sun & Holidays

Just noticed this post now, so catching up. To me, "a new bus line" means just that: a new bus line. Whether they call it a weekend line or summer line seems "sausage" as they say here. It's a new line. >> As I've said before, all Freizeit buses, AFAIK, are "regular" buses that are given special treatment (brochure, snappy name, etc.) when they are elevated to the Freizeit line. I cannot recall a single instance of a Freizeit bus that started as a Freizeit bus. << AFAYK. In this case, the VGN says it's new. You have no evidence to support your claim that they're ...what... lying, do you? >> I don't know exactly when the 977 started service, << Aha. Earlier, you were fairly adamant about it being not new, but a re-numbering of another line. >> but the schedule that is now online says it was at least in December. << And as you've pointed out *yourself*, the line runs from 1 May to 1 Nov. So....... >> Nick, if you had noticed this in December and published the same thread, with the same title in December, you would have had no quarrel from me. << How would I have noticed it in December? I don't scour the VGN webbie every 12th of December looking for possible new bus lines. The paper reported it in mid June, saying it's new. If it's good enough for them to say it's new, let alone the VGN themselves and Danny who appears to agree, it's good enough for me. Anyone claiming I'm wrong to say that it's new carries the burden of proof. >> The point is this information has been available on the VGN site for half a year now. If you hadn't noticed it in December, but only now, perhaps you could have used a title more like: "new Freitzeit bus starts service." << See above. I'm not a transit reporter. Have you complained to the Markt Spiegel? >> I used to be a journalist - old habits die hard. << Was wondering what might be behind this. "Coffee shop withdrawal whilst in Bavaria" was a working hypothesis.
