Munich connection

Also thanks Mike, that way is worth thinking about, particularly as Ryanair are scrapping the Dublin - Memmingmen (Munch West!) route after October. It's getting more and more difficult and expensive for us to get to either Franken or the Oberpfalz. I know it's almost nothing compared with crossing the pond but expensive for 1/2 hour flights. The best thing about Regensburg for us was that it was from there that we made our first visit to Eschawo! Seriously, we were really disappointed with the city - it's big and very over-restored, with not that much atmosphere. The beer in Spital is quite drinkable but it is a bit of a tourist trap being at the end of the Steinbrucke and gets very, very crowded. Kneitinger is good also Bischofshof but the brewpubs are very average (my experience - limited - of all the modern brewpubs, incidentally). I wouldn't waste any time revisiting the city. much better to work oneself through all the hundreds of places in Franken.
